To Install Your MacOS8 Internet Settings: 1. Double click on your Hard Disk icon. Find and double click on your "Internet" folder. Find and double click on "Internet Setup Assistant. 2. Near the middle of the window there are two buttons. Click "Update." 3. The opening setup window is marked #1. Read the introduction and then click on the right arrow. 4. Setup window #2: Choose "Add Internet Configuration" and click on the right arrow. 5. Window #3: For the name of the configuration, type "Comteck," then make sure you are connecting with a modem. Click the next arrow. 6. Window #4: Choose the correct make and model of modem. If one doesnt match exactly, choose the one closest to your make and model. Select the proper port and select tone or pulse dialing. Click on the right arrow. 7. Window #5: Type in the appropriate Dial-Up NUMBER supplied with the packet. For the
8. Window #6: For "Is there an IP address for this configuration," select No. Click on the right arrow. 9. Window #7: The first box asks for "DNS address." Type 209.45.185.5 ". The second box asks for "Domain Name." Type "comteck.com" in lower case letters. Click on the right arrow. 10. Window #8: For "e-mail address," type yourusername@comteck.com in lower case letters. For "e-mail password," type your PASSWORD in lower case letters. Click on the right arrow. 11. Window #9: For "e-mail account," type yourusername@mail.comteck.com in lower case letters. For "e-mail host," type "mail.comteck.com" in lower case letters. Click on the right arrow. 12. Window #10: For "news server," type "news.comteck.com" in lower case letters. Click on the right arrow. 13. Window #11: You have completed setting up your Mac. If you wish to connect immediately, make sure "Connect When Finished" is checked. Click on "Go Ahead" to install your settings.
To Connect To Comteck Using The OS8 Dialer: 1. Double Click On Your Hard Drive, choose the Internet folder, and Double Click on Internet Dialer. *** If you know how to make aliases, you can make one for this file and move it to your desktop or anywhere else on your computer for easy access. 2. Make sure that "Via:" is set to "Comteck." 3. Click Connect. Your computer will now dial Comteck and connect to the Internet. 4. Open the Internet application you wish to use.
